The location of the Cathedral next to the train station was perfect and an absolute free must see. Lots of cafes and bars in the centre and plenty of museums too.
I greatly recommend the city Zoo, which is easily accessible via multiple bus lines and trams, or via the Seilbahn from the city park near the Messe. Köln is a wonderful and fun city with something to do for every tourist. You like sweets and museums? Go to the chocolate museum! It was 15 degrees rein cologne when were there and they said this is winter in Germany. When asked can we change the hotel as we are feeling hot rein the room. They said it is upfront payment and they will not give us refund. Never stay there again.
